Scarborough Duathlon
This will be Scarborough's first duathlon which is set to take place on Oliver's Mount. It will comprise of a 10k run, a 32k cycle race and finally a 5k run.
The runs will be on the circuit and also take in the perimeter road around the Mere. The cycling section will involve eight laps of the motorcycle circuit, but in the reverse direction to the motor bikes, making the climb a little easier .

North Sea Yacht Race
Hundreds of people are expected to go down to Scarborough harbour to see the flotilla of yachts, as they set off for this annual 210 mile race to Ijmuiden, on the Dutch coast. The first yachts are expected to finish the gruelling race within 30 to 36 hours after the yachtsmen and women have skilfully navigated round gas rigs and through some of the busiest shipping lanes in the world. |

Scarborough Fayre 2008
Scarborough Fayre will take place from July 21st for a week, encorporating top class street entertainment for all the family with stilt walkers, jugglers, children's entertainers, face painting, street theatre and music. The Fayre also runs in conjunction with the ever popular Continental Market, which will return on the 24th, 25th, 26th and 27th of July. The market will be located on Westborough, and there will be approximately 40 stalls selling a huge range of produce from Europe, including homemade soap, cheeses, pates, jewellery, wooden toys and much much more. It is truly something not to be missed. |

Three Hills Bike Hill Climb Championship
The three hills bike championship is a new national event with invitations to other european countries. The weekend consists of competition on the Dalby Forest North Course on the Friday with the second part of the series on the Dalby Forest South Course on the Saturday. After this event they will head to the Olivers Mount Circuit in Scarborough for the evening social event with the third part of the championship taking place on the Olivers Mount Circuit on the Sunday.
